So at some point late Friday or Saturday morning my k and j keys stopped working. This is/was extremely upsetting and derailed the chapter I was working on pretty abruptly. I’ve gotten a bit more planning in and drew a bunch of Aidan clothing and dragon heads, but haven’t scanned them in. I took my poor baby in to get looked at and they said they would have to replace the entire keyboard. They gave me two options, buy one year of tech support and the new piece and they’d do a complete checkup, virius scan, and install the keyboard when I got it, OR let them send her out for service. For the first (which I went with) it was $200 dollars plus parts, for the other it could have been $50-80 less, but I would have to give up my laptop for 4-8 weeks. No surprise I went with the former even though spending that sort of money gives me chest pains.
So Monday through part of today I was without laptop and had to make do with my phone while they did a tune up. I’ll have to surrender her again whenever that keyboard arrives in the mail, so I probably won’t be posting any art or writing until well into next week. Also there’s an essay I need to write about Catholic Mass. That is not going to put a sour taste in my mouth AT ALL.
(btw, the on-screen keyboard, while enabling me to write this, is actually painful to use, even for just those two letters.)
