So I’ve been doing school things, and haven’t been posting them. Even though some of it is really nifty. Well. NO MORE. I would like to present the second project I did this semester. A bedroom!
Just to give a brief introduction my clients were a middle-aged couple that had spent a great deal of their youth travelling, and had just settled down to start a B&B. This bedroom was supposed to be a place of rest and relaxation. I took the concept of the room from some Murano glass vases they had collected while in Venice and wanted to put on display.
Without any further to do I present “Clear Elegance” (I apologize in advance for all my titles being stupid puns.)
First up! Floor plan.

I wanted a somewhat separate reading area that acted as an additional space cushion between the actual bed and the rest of the home. Custom Fireplace was a requirement. Speaking of…

Yeah I don’t know why it looks so washed out. It was made on the computer and cleaned up, and I know for a fact the one on my poster does not look like that.

Looking back, I was really proud of how this perspective turned out. Considering my next two projects… Well. It’s still pretty cool, and I love the room in general. I just now know that I can do so much better! Ah, and next let me show you the end of an era. The last hand renderings I did this semester.

The hand renderings look much better and less saturated in real life. Tbh, I really like this project and I like hand rendering. I just really suck at doing perspective by hand, and if I go to the ‘trouble’ of modeling rooms in Sketchup or Revit then I feel sort of silly printing it out and hand rendering when I can just add more detail, materials, and get a more photo-realistic rendering. Possibly a sign of laziness. Anywho. I there are two more projects I did, but I’ll post them one at a time over the next week or so to get myself back in the habit of putting stuff online.
